Le Paris Dakar

Client

Le Paris Dakar

Mouna Thiam opened Le Paris Dakar at the corner of Macon and Nostrand in Bedford Stuyvesant in 2012. What began as a single, French-Senegalese inspired creperie has grown into three small coffee shops.

Project Brief

Given COVID’s pandemic effects on businesses such as Le Paris Dakar, the brief was to find an effective way to manage and redirect paths of circulation while creating safety and separation between seating areas— particularly outdoors. The project built off the kit of parts created for Cafe Cotton Bean, located just down the street.

Design Approach

We expanded the kit of parts created for Cafe Cotton Bean, to develop a set of elements that could be rapidly applied
to future small business and nonprofits in the surrounding neighborhoods. Everything, from design to fabrication and installation, should be done at no cost to the client.
