Client

Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition (NWBCC)

A community based art and food initiative that asks how we can work with local art practices to support local restaurants? The initiative explores ways that those actions can lead to mutual benefit for practicing artists in the Kingsbridge neighborhood of The Bronx.

Design Approach

Working with Kingsbridge based artists and brothers Felix and Dexter Ciprian, we have been developing a platform to develop mutually beneficial relationships between artists and restaurants in the neighborhood. The core value is to recognize and support the economies around art and food, as well as the people who participate in them by strengthening ties within and between these communities.

Eating Artists has short term as well as longer term components, some of which can be initiated easily and inexpensively and others which will require more planning, fundraising, and community support. The hope is to establish a platform in which artists can work directly with the restaurant owners, with local decision making and collaborative effort supported by Design Advocates. This is an ongoing effort and we welcome feedback from neighbors and others interested in getting involved. Email us if you would like to get involved with the Eating Artists initiative.
