People’s Choice Communications is a worker-owned internet company that grew out of the longest labor strike in US. history. Striking Spectrum employees formed a rival company that is owned and managed by the workers to provide high speed, low cost and free wireless Internet connectivity to the 29% of New Yorkers without access to high speed Internet.
Project Brief
Design Advocates is working with PCC on multiple initiatives around technical support of installations as well as storytelling through demonstration.
Design Approach
We created a visual language along with visual assets that can be used in future efforts to tell the story of the organization, and help promote its services.
March 28, 2021 marked the four year anniversary of the strike. Design Advocates helped PCC design a protest that took place at the Barclays Center. The intention was to create a spatial and informational event to promote their story, movement, and services.
